At Artisan Cakes and Confections, we know just how important your wedding day is to you and so it’s important to us that you receive our personalised service and undivided attention for your exquisite wedding cake from your initial enquiry to the setting up of your cake, in pride of place, at your chosen venue.
We only accept a limited number of commissions each year so that we can devote our time to making your cake and to provide you with a more exclusive service. You can be sure that your cake will be baked with the utmost care and given all the time and attention it needs.
We set ourselves apart from the crowd by everything we do, from developing new recipes and flavour combinations, baking from scratch using the best ingredients available, to the completed masterpiece to wow you and your guests that isn’t only beautiful to look at but tastes amazing too.
Wedding Cake Flavours
Let’s talk about flavours!
Your cake will not only look fabulous but it will taste delicious too. At Artisan Cakes and Confections only the very best quality ingredients are used to achieve the very best taste. Free range or organic eggs, butter, couverture Belgian chocolate, Madagascan vanilla, Swiss meringue buttercream and seasonal fresh fruit where possible, are used to produce mouthwatering flavour combinations.
Vanilla & Raspberry
A classic combination, a soft Madagascan vanilla bean sponge, infused with vanilla bean syrup, vanilla buttercream, and raspberry conserve.
Light, fresh lemon sponge, infused with lemon syrup, filled with lemon buttercream and zingy Sicilian lemon curd. Alternatively, the lemon sponge may be paired with a raspberry conserve.
A beautifully rich decadent chocolate cake, filled with a soft, silky Belgian dark or milk chocolate and Swiss meringue buttercream.
Deliciously soft, moist sponge cake filled with a decadent vanilla white chocolate ganache buttercream.
Pink Champagne and Strawberry
A subtle pink champagne flavoured sponge cake, infused with pink champagne and filled with strawberry conserve and pink champagne Swiss meringue buttercream.
Rose, Saffron, Cardamom and Pistachio
A delightfully regal cake, delicately flavoured sponge with cardamom, pistachio and saffron and rosewater and pistachio buttercream.
Almond and Cherry
Wonderfully similar to a cherry bakewell, an almond sponge infused with a cherry syrup and a cherry conserve and almond buttercream.
Butterscotch flavoured sponge with a salted caramel sauce and salted caramel Swiss meringue buttercream.
Coffee and Walnut
Coffee and walnut sponge, one of the classics, infused with a coffee syrup and a coffee Swiss meringue buttercream.
Earl Grey, Lavender and Lemon
Beautifully flavoured and fragrant sponge layered with lemon curd and lavender buttercream.
Rich Fruit Cake
Traditional, full flavoured fruit cake, fed with brandy or rum and matured for a minimum of three months, covered with marzipan and sugarpaste icing. Only available as a cutting cake which will be delivered to the kitchen.
Our kitchen handles Gluten, Eggs, Nuts, Milk, Soya and Sulphites and some other allergens on occasions. Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the time of ordering your cake. Full ingredients list is available on request and will be enclosed with your order.
Cake Tasting Experience
Everyone looks forward to the cake tasting experience, this is one of the highlights for sure!
A wedding cake tasting box, for two people, is included in the price of your wedding cake.
“We had no idea about how to even start at our wedding cake design when we first spoke with Meryl. She helped us decide what size we would need for our guest list and talked us through colours, designs, flavours and fillings.
We wanted to have the wedding flowers incorporated within the design so she hand-crafted gerbera sugar flowers exactly like the bridesmaids in our colour scheme. She made us the most beautiful looking cake, had a long journey to the venue and Meryl made sure it was transported safely and arrived on time.
